Nearly 400 delegates participate in Spring Friendship Journey 2025 Sunday, March 2, 2025 | 17:59:19 -Nearly 400 delegates, including ambassadors and their spouses, diplomats from embassies, representatives of international organizations, foreign non-governmental organizations in Vietnam, as well as officials from ministries and agencies, gathered at the Trung Sisters Temple in Me Linh, Hanoi, on Saturday for the Spring Friendship Journey 2025. Female ambassadors and female representatives receive gifts on the occasion of International Women's Day During the event, organized annually by the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations in coordination with relevant agencies, the delegates participated in incense offerings, experienced traditional crafts of making lotus tea and dried flowers, and planted trees within the temple grounds. Trưng Sisters' Uprising was the first national resistance movement against the Chinese invaders. The sisters rode elephants to repel the enemy and liberate Đại Việt after 247 years under foreign domination. After the war, the two were crowned queens and established their capital in the present Mê Linh District. A major highlight of the event was the cultural exchange featuring artistic performances, traditional cuisine, and a showcase of Vietnam’s rich cultural heritage. Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco and Deputy Head of the Diplomatic Corps in Vietnam, Mr. Jamale Chouaibi, praised the Spring Friendship Journey as a meaningful initiative that introduces Vietnam’s historical and cultural treasures to the international community. He emphasized that the event strengthens the bonds between the people of Vietnam, particularly Hanoi, and international friends. The Ambassador said such initiatives will continue to promote Hanoi’s image, fostering a deeper understanding of its people, culture, and heritage among global visitors.
