A: I’m reading a letter from 18-year-old Johannes Lummi of Finland. Lummi has been listening to VOV for around 2 years. He said: “I always feel joy when I can hear VOV as I found your channel to be friendly, informative, and entertaining. It has been some time since I sent my last report, but today when I tuned to your program, I decided to write one. I especially like your Letter Box and Sunday Show with interesting topics and great music.”

B: Thank you for being a part of the VOV listeners' community over the past two years. We're glad to hear that VOV's transmission on 11885 kHz to Finland provided you with an overall very good listening experience, despite some slight drops and interference from another station.

A: Richard Lemke of Canada tuned in to the 11885 kHz frequency on January 31. He noted a rather good signal with a SINPO code of 55433. The program discussed Vietnam’s diplomacy as a growth engine for the country's advancement into the new era. Lemke was also intrigued by the story of the spring fairs in the northern mountainous region, which are unique cultural events not focused on purchasing goods, but on meeting others and sharing the joy of the Lunar New Year.

A: M Saleem Akhtar Chadhar, a member of VOV’s Seven-star Radio Listeners Club, told us that Vietnam is his favorite country. “I listen your program daily and always enjoy it. The news bulletin gives me a lot of knowledge about Vietnam and the world,” said Chadhar.

B: H.M.Tarek, a member of VOV5 Listeners’ Clubin Bangladesh has beenone if our regular listeners over the last 11 years. He told us what keeps him tuning in to VOV is exclusive stories about Vietnam. On February 20, he listened to Discovery Vietnam, which talked about spring travel to sacred land of the Tran dynasty.

A: It's lovely to see how our programs continue to engage listeners worldwide. Spring travel is an age-old tradition for the Vietnamese, taking place right after the Lunar New Year holiday. Popular destinations often include places of historical significance, natural scenic spots, or cultural and spiritual importance, such as temples and pagodas.

B: Many people visit sacred sites dedicated to ancient figures to honor their contributions to the nation and pray for good fortune. Spring travel reflects a deep cultural connection to family, heritage, and nature. For locals, it's a time to enjoy the holiday’s lingering excitement, while for tourists, it offers an opportunity to explore diverse traditions of Vietnam.

B: For now, sit back and enjoy “Tren dinh Phu Van" , a song celebrating the tranquil beauty and spiritual significance of Yen Tu mountain in Quang Ninh province. Yen Tu has become a Buddhist centre of Vietnam since King Tran Nhan Tong gave up the throne, put on a monk's robes, and established the Truc Lam Zen Buddhism based in Vietnam in the 13th century. He built hundreds of large and small works on Yen Tu Mountain as places for practicing and preaching Buddhism.

B: Ueda Tomoharu in Hokkaido, Japan, asks: “Does Vietnam have many hot mineral springs?” Yes, there are more than 200 hot springs throughout Vietnam though only a handful have been developed and conveniently accessible for public bathing. The winter months from November to February are an ideal time to experience the therapeutic and relaxing benefits of hot mineral springs.

A: Travelling about 70 km northward of Hanoi, Kim Boi in Hoa Binh provinceis a well-known hot spring destination. In this tourism complex, visitors can choose from a day experience or stay overnight in numerous hotels and resorts with hot mineral springs, bathing and pool facilities.

B: Nestled in a valley between three mountains, Tu Le in Yen Bai mountain province is home to a diverse mix of ethnic groups, including the Thai, Mong, and Dao. Even in winter, when temperatures drop below 10 degrees Celsius, the hot springs maintain a soothing temperature of 38-40 degrees. Among the local resorts, Le Champ Tu Le Resort Hot Spring Spa stands out as the best place to stay.

A: Meanwhile, Yoko Onsen in the border province of Quang Ninh offers an authentic Japanese Onsen experience. Modeled after a traditional Japanese village, guests can enjoy an authentic onsen bathing experience, with a mix of public and private bathing facilities ideal for families and large groups. The mineral water is sourced directly from Quang Hanh’s natural hot mineral spring, with temperatures ranging from 36 to 40 degrees Celsius.

B: Traveling further southward to Thua Thien-Hue Province, Thanh Tan hot mineral spring was first documented in 1928. Now it’s called Alba Wellness Valley which includes hot springs bathing, a recreation center with a waterpark and zip line, hotel and resort, and a bottling plant for Alba Mineral Water. It’s just about 30km from Hue city center.

A: Binh Chau in the southern province of Vung Tau has been a popular hot springs destination for decades. The temperatures range from 40-82 degree Celsius at different points. The resort, which is about 70km from Ho Chi Minh City and 45km from Vung Tau city center, provides shuttle services from Ho Chi Minh City for staying guests.
